May 2025. An indie researcher of emergent online phenomena accidentally discovers what they call a 'Strange Imaginary Game you pretend to play' and releases reports about it. Unknown to the general public, it was popular with regular Netizens and spawned an complex Scene overnight before mysteriously disappearing. The premise is as follows:

For 1.5 minutes simply >>pretend<< to reimagine the realtime Web as an ancient, mythic high-desert virtual landscape, set in a beautifully dark Retrofuture 80s era of High Adventure and Big Science. A new social relationship and small informal act of shared Open Source Worldbuilding, roleplay as though '#ROB' actually exists and so together create its vivid artistic dimension."
